Resume

Vibrant is the perfect word to describe Patricia Riascos’s art. Her use of bold colors and geometric playfulness creates a style that is truly her own, and the presence of a common theme throughout her work is especially evident in her abstract paintings: A dreamlike character unites them. She doesn’t spell everything out for us… her paintings have a meditative and mysterious quality.

Picasso has been one of her main influences, as well as Modigliani and his elongated figures with their distinctive details that make them unique. Egon Schiele’s expressive textures and poignancy are a further source of inspiration.

Patricia was born in Colombia and now resides in Michigan.
